Turkish New Embassy Compound, Dhaka, Bangladesh

This is a brand new compound which includes Chancellery Building, Official Residence and Residential Building as the main compound structures. In this scope, reinforced concrete frame three to four story connected structures with a total built area of more than 6000 sm were constructed together with all the required mechanical-plumbing, electrical, telecommunications, data and technical security infrastructure and systems. Regarding architectural features; exterior finishing of the buildings consisted of mechanically suspended solid bricks, cement mortared facing bricks and marble facing. Some of the interior walls were designed as movable partition wall and glass partition wall. Floor finishing consisted of hardwood, ceramic, marble and mosaic. Interior wall finishing consisted of satin and normal paintings, wall ceramic and wall finishing with perforated steel sheet. Openings were designed as aluminum windows and wood doors.

The compound was surrounded by a cast in place concrete perimeter security wall, entrance gates and reinforced concrete guard booth structure. Due to the conditions of the original ground, buildings and perimeter wall were constructed on piled spread footing. More than 700 piles were executed with depths ranging from 13 meters to 20 meters and diameter ranging from 600 mm to 800mm. As to the site itself, apart from the underground infrastructure of all utilities, complete landscape-hardscape works were put in place including access roads and sidewalks with pressed brick finishes, open spaces with marble finishes, decorative pools, garden areas, fencing and exterior lighting.
